I was brought up to revere the pre-revisionist history that formed Americans' notions of the character of my native New England and how it ought to look. In response, I seek to create an authentic regional art that acknowledges, celebrates, and often monkeys with the visual tropes I grew up with. Mostly, though, I take the pictures I want to see.

Beauty without sentimentality is a goal of all my work.
